Auto Preview: 2014 Mustang GT

The Preview 2014 Mustang GT looks as good as ever, even with a few rough edges we’ll be glad to see smoothed.
2014 Ford Mustang: The key reasons people buy Mustang GTs are the rumbles and growls from behind the mesh grille. The 5.0-liter V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, all managed with the six-speed manual transmission. / Photo provided by Ford Motor Co.
A Classic style
There’s no mistaking the classic good looks. Mustang’s forward hood brow, wide grille and big HID headlamps are unmistakable.

Hood vents and Brembo disc brakes behind 19-inch alloys are purposeful and beautiful. A kick-up in the rear fender, C-cut in the body sides and triple barrel tail lamps carry tradition. Sequencing turn signals, faux gas cap and deletion of the rear spoiler enhance the car’s rear view.

Mustang-shape puddle lamps are pretty cool! Definitely get it in Deep Impact Blue.

Inside, the twin-cowl dash, large analog instruments and three-spoke steering wheel look familiar. Selectable dash lighting colors, heated leather seats, Shaker audio and Ford’s SYNC infotainment system embrace today’s drivers. The cloth top goes down quickly.
